World Customs Organization Chooses Bernan as Distributor

Lanham, MD — Bernan is pleased to announce that the World Customs Organization (WCO) has accepted Bernan as an official WCO reseller.
The World Customs Organization, based in Brussels, is the intergovernmental organization focused on Customs issues. The WCO’s mission is to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of its Member Customs administrations across the globe. It is noted for its work in areas covering the development of global Customs standards, compliance issues, the simplification and harmonization of Customs procedures, the security and facilitation of the trade supply chain, trade facilitation, and Sustainable Customs capacity building initiatives.
Founded in 1952 as the Customs Cooperation Council, it adopted the name World Customs Organization in 1994 to reflect its status as a global institution. It represents 174 Customs administrations plus the European Communities. WCO Members are responsible for processing more than 98% of all international trade.
The WCO promotes an honest, transparent and predictable Customs environment that helps legitimate international trade to flourish while simultaneously making it possible to take effective action against fraudulent activities.
